Break of a plastic fitting may cause, because of its ageing, important floods and will likely generate more and more floods in a soon future.
This fitting has been designed, originally, to be temporary installed, a water meter was intended to take its place.
No meter having been installed and the decision being unlikely in a soon future, these plastic sleeves give up one after the other. Being installed on the main water supply, before the insulating valve of the apartment, the consequences of their break can be interrupted only by a closure(lock) of the water inlet of all the column feeding the concerned part of the building, therfore often generating consequent damages in the absence of every occupant in the considered zone.
Everyone should replace immediately this fitting, if not to be already made, by a metallic one (low cost).
